FPI 2022 - Call for a research scholarship to carry out the doctoral thesis in Multimodal Language Acquisition and Learning

Description:The research group Group of Prosodic and Gesture Studies and Prosody Lab at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra
(Barcelona, Catalonia) announces an opening for a 4-year doctoral support position associated with.the project "Multimodal Communication
(MCOM): The integration of prosody and gesture in human communication and in language learning" (PID2021-123823NB-I00), funded by the Spanish
Ministry of Science and Innovation. The goal of the project is to analyze from an experimental perspective how human prosodic and gesture
patterns are integrated in language and how they can together help boost language learning.
The scholarship is financed through the Research Personnel Training program (FPI) of the Spanish Ministry of
Science at EC-GREP group and will lead to the development of a doctoral thesis in the Department of Translation and
Language Sciences at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). The FPI-2021 scholarships have a duration of up to 4 years and
an annual gross salary of approximately € 16,250 for the first and second annuities, € 17,410 for the third and € 21,760
for the fourth. The position includes a monthly stipend, coverage by the Social Security system, and university fees
related to doctoral study. The contract also includes the possibility of applying for a grant for a short-term internship
in a lab abroad.

Teorica e Aplicada
S'agís d'un programa a l'encòp academic e de recèrca,
que balha una formacion de 3en cicle universitari en diferents domenis
de la lingüistica teorica e aplicada e qu'alimenta
de linhas de recèrca doctorala dins aqueles domenis mai tanben
en lingüistica computacionala e en analisi del discors.
Lo master a tanben un aspècte professionalizador
associat sustot a l'aprendissatge de lengas, a la

Master en Sciéncia Cognitiva
e Lengatge
CCiL (Ciència Cognitiva i Llenguatge) es un programa de 3n cicle (master e doctorat)
interuniversitari e interdisciplinari en Sciéncia Cognitiva
que respond al besonh de despassar las barrièras academicas
qu'existisson actualament entre los diferents domenis de la
Sciéncia Cognitiva. Lo programa se centra especialament
sus la percepcion e l'aquisicion del lengatge, lo processament
sintactic e semantic de la parla, la relacion entre semantica
e cognicion, l'estructura logica del lengatge e los
fondaments epistemics e conceptuals de son estudi, l'analisi
computacionala del lengatge e sus la relacion entre los

Lenga e Literatura Catalanas
L'objectiu del master es de balhar una formacion
especifica e avançada en lenga e literatura catalanas,
tant suls aspèctes teorics coma suls aspèctes mai aplicats. Lo master, que permet una
orientacion cap a la recèrca, es estructurat en
doas especialitats: Lingüistica catalana e Literatura

Espanhòla e Literatura Ispanica
L'objectiu d'aqueste master es de formar de cercaires que mestregen completament e profondament, tant del ponch
de vista teoric coma aplicat, los camps de la lenga

Master en Fonetica
e Fonologia
Lo master a una durada d'un an (60 crèdits europèus)
e s'articula a l'entorn de 3 moduls. Los dos primièrs
(fonetica e fonologia) son comuns per totes los estudiants.
Lo tresen se pòt causir demest quatre especialitats.
Cada modul es compausat per una seria de tèmas que,
a l'encòp, son compausats per un grop de matèrias.
